Lessons from my first day as a full-time writer

I’m wrapping up my first working day as a full-time writer. Here’s the story about what I’ll be doing for the next 6 months:

And here are a few things I’ve learned so far:

1 – I’ve never been a morning person, but I’ll hop out of bed and get to work if I love what I’m doing. I was at my computer reading my usual writing blogs at 7 am and hard at work on my current manuscript before 8. We’ll have to see if that continues.

2 – I can write productively for about three hours at a time (give or take 30 minutes) even when my time is unlimited. After that I need to take a break or work on something else for a while.

3 – My apartment is much cleaner now than it was this morning. I wonder why…

4 – Being able to take an afternoon tea break to read Stephen King in the cafe across the street just might be the pinnacle of happiness.

5 – I can’t wait to do this again tomorrow.

Just a reminder: If you’d like to participate in the super secret cover reveal for SEABOUND, please kindly sign up for my mailing list. I’ll also let you know about the $0.99 advance sale when the book comes out.

Thanks guys!
